On inspection of this listed stone built cottage in Oldham, we found that damage had occurred in various places of main stone slate roof allowing the ingress of water.

AH Building Contractor was contacted to rectify this problem involving a full re-roof to both elevations.

Also a new velux installation to front side was required by customer following chimney repairs.

  1. Supply and erect scaffolding.
  2. Remove all Ridge-tiles and all existing stone slates.
  3. Remove all batons from both elevations.
  4. Apply new none rot fully breathable roofing underlay to correct lap of 150mm.
  5. Fix new weather treated 2x1 laths to random coursed settings.
  6. Fix new velux window to front side elevation.
  7. Re-build base of chimney stack to make safe.
  8. Re-fix all stone slates and replace all damaged with new,
  9. Apply new code 4 lead to base of chimney stack.
  10. Re-bed and re-point all ridges to make secure and weather proof.
  11. Remove all waste and scaffolding to finish this project.
